If you wired it up correct everything will work just look at the gauge for trim position because with the relays the power will stay on as long as you have the button pushed. The relays can be put in a small watertight box and then just drill a hole for the wires to exit and seal them up. I bought the relays at radio shack part # 275-0001 for 6.95 each so after wire and connectors you will be in less then 20 bucks. When I did mine I ran new wires from the vts motor through the back of housing by drilling a hole and sealing it up with 5200

If the motor doesn’t turn remove the two screws on the motor and check the armature and brushes you might get lucky by cleaning them up and save a other-wise bad vts motor and add a-little grease to the shaft ends.Īfter you wire up the relays the trim gauge will work if it is any good.Ĭut the green/white and the blue/ white wires from the vts 6 pin connector (switch side) but leave the other wires un-touched so you will have a vts gauge when you are done plus the vts switches will still have the original ground. Start by checking the vts motor disconnect both wires inside box and jumper wires negative to positive on battery and motor should rotate… Reverse the wires to check rotation the other direction. The black box is also radio shack at 2.99 and they have the rubber grommets in a bag for 2 bucks I have put on about 150 miles on the ski I put it on in the last month using it a-lot with no issues at all. No stop for the trim motor but if you are smart enough to look at the gauge you will have no problems. I think the Seadoo trim a waste of time but some people like it so here is what I came up with and it works like a charm. I buy ski's to re-sell and most have bad trims so this is what I came up with. Just thought I would pass this on to help a few people fix there trim on the cheep.
